Students at Lakeview High School in Battle Creek, Michigan were recently privileged to attend a performance of Remnants by University of Michigan psychologist and playwright Dr. Henry Greenspan who is also a member of this network.

Remnants is based on two decades of Henry Greenspan’s conversations with Holocaust survivors, including some material drawn from Reflections: Auschwitz, Memory, and a Life Recreated, the memoir which the author wrote with Holocaust survivor Agi Rubin.

The performance at Lakeview was attended by students who had studied the Holocaust through US History, World History, English (where Elie Wiesel's memoir Night is read), Art, Music or Theater classes. Time was set aside for dialogue and questions from the audience.

Professor Greenspan's presentation at Lakeview High School was made possible through support of the Battle Creek Community Foundation. The event was planned as part of the 2009 Days of Remembrance observance and will long be remembered as a unique opportunity to further understanding of the Holocaust.
