A forum promoting best practice in Holocaust instruction
I believe that teaching the Holocaust is important, not only for preserving the history, but for recognizing and responding to current attitudes that contributed to the social climate that allowed such atrocities. We must do so to prevent anything similar from ever getting started.
What do you see in our society/schools that could, when taken to the extreme, foster a similar climate that allowed the rise of Nazism? How does bullying stem from intolerance of others? What people groups are in danger of being victims to collective prejudice?
How do we connect the dots?
