I've spoken with Peter in the past. Regarding the Boy in Striped Pajamas, I felt it was the anti-Life Is Beautiful. From the first scene until the end, it repeadtedly constrasts play and reality. Of course,
the scenario of two boys meeting at the fence on a regular basis and going undetected is far-fetched, but that closing scene is powerful.
