A forum promoting best practice in Holocaust instruction

Dr. Miriam Brysk, Holocaust surivovr and artist, is the keynote speaker on Sunday, April 11, 2:30 p.m., at the Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center, 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53217. Dr. Brysk's presentation will be preceded by an Intergenerational Program titled "Hiding from Hitler: A Child’s World in the Woods" that will take place from 1-1:45 p.m.
The Shoah Remembrance Committee of Muskegon (SRCM) is pleased to announce that Miriam Brysk will also be a guest at this year's Shoah Commemoration Service on April 25 at 3:30 pm. The event takes place at the Samuel Lutheran Church, on the corner of 8th Street and Muskegon Ave in Muskegon, Michigan.
Dr. Henry Greenspan will perform his one-person play REMNANTS in Lansing, Michigan on Friday, April 16 and on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. in the LCP UNDERGROUND Theater at 2300 East Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI 48912. All seats are $15.00. Reservations can be made by calling 517-484-9115.
REMNANTS is based on twenty years of the renowned playwright's conversations with Holocaust survivors. Forty minutes in length, the piece is stark and minimalist, each segment recreating moments in which survivors reflect not only on the destruction but also on their lives in the aftermath. Performances of the play are followed by a discussion between playwright and audience.
Dr. Greenspan (who teaches at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and who has been writing about the Holocaust for alsmost three decades) will also participate in the Muskegon, Michigan Yom Hashoah Commemoration Service.
