A forum promoting best practice in Holocaust instruction
The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) will hold its 2012 Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Holocaust Education Network members Miriam Brysk, Margaret Lincoln, Cynthia Schofield, Tosha Tillotson and Bill Younglove will lead a panel presentation on "TEACHING THE HOLOCAUST THROUGH A SURVIVOR'S ART."
An excerpt from the description of this session in the Convention Program reads:
For educators faced with the challenge of teaching 21st century learners about the Holocaust, the inclusion of artwork offers a powerful resource to enhance literary study. A diverse panel of three English teachers, a school librarian and most importantly, a Holocaust/artist survivor, share lesson materials designed to enrich existing curriculum.
The session will be held from 2:30 PM to 3:45 PM on Friday, November 16, 2012.
